The State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest public sector bank, has released its official notification (Advt. No. CRPD/CR/2025-26/06) for the recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in its clerical cadre. The bank is inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for 5180 regular vacancies along with backlog vacancies across various states and union territories.

  • Online Registration & Fee Payment: 6th August 2025 to 26th August 2025

  • Preliminary Examination (Tentative): September 2025

  • Main Examination (Tentative): November 2025

Vacancy Details

  • Total Vacancies: 5180 (Regular) + Backlog Vacancies

  • State/UT-wise Recruitment: Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT and must be proficient in the local language of that State/UT.

  • No Inter-Circle/Inter-State Transfer: Once appointed, transfers will only be allowed within certain circles of the same state as per bank rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.04.2025)

  • Minimum: 20 years

  • Maximum: 28 years

  • Born Between: 02.04.1997 and 01.04.2005 (both days inclusive)

  • Age Relaxation:

    • OBC: 3 years

    • SC/ST: 5 years

    • PwBD: 10–15 years (depending on category)

    • Ex-Servicemen, Widows, Divorced Women – as per rules

Educational Qualification (as on 31.12.2025)

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

  • Final-year students can apply provisionally but must produce proof of graduation by 31st December 2025.

  • Certain ex-servicemen with equivalent certificates are also eligible.

Selection Procedure

The recruitment process will be conducted in three phases:

Phase I – Preliminary Examination

  • Mode: Online

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Pattern:

  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer

  • Candidates about 10 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Exam.

Phase II – Main Examination

  • Duration: 2 hrs 40 min

  • Pattern:

  • Negative marking applies.

  • Marks of the Preliminary Exam will not be counted for final merit.

Phase III – Local Language Proficiency Test

  • Candidates not having studied the opted local language in Class 10 or 12 must qualify this test.

Pay Scale & Benefits

  • Basic Pay: ₹26,730/- (including two advance increments for graduates)

  • Pay Scale: ₹24,050 – ₹64,480/-

  • Gross Starting Salary at Metro Cities: Approx. ₹46,000/- per month (including allowances)

  • Additional benefits include PF, Pension, Medical, Leave Fare, and other facilities.

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹750/-

  • SC/ST/PwBD/XS: Exempted

How to Apply

  • Apply for only one State/UT.

  • No change in category or exam centre will be allowed after submission.

  • Multiple applications will result in cancellation.

  • Candidates must retain at least 8 copies of the same photograph uploaded in the application.
