Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed the 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized board.
- Must have studied the local language up to the 10th standard.
- Candidates applying for Arunachal Pradesh must have knowledge of English or Hindi and any tribal language recognized by the state.
Other Qualifications

- Adequate means of livelihood
Job Profiles
1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)
- Managing postal operations, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) services, and marketing postal products.
- Handling customer service operations and ensuring smooth mail delivery.
- Required to arrange accommodation for the Branch Post Office (B.O.) at their own cost.
2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)
- Assisting BPM in daily operations, including sale of stamps, mail delivery, and handling IPPB transactions.
- Marketing postal services and handling customer service operations.
- Required to reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the post office.
3. Dak Sevak
- Responsible for selling postal products, handling mail deliveries, and supporting postmasters.
- Assisting in railway mail services and sorting offices.
- Required to reside within the jurisdiction of the assigned post office.
Emoluments and Allowances

- GDS employees receive a 3% annual increase in salary.
- Additional allowances and social security benefits include gratuity and a pension-like scheme.
Reservation Criteria
- Candidates applying under SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD categories must provide valid certificates.
- EWS applicants must possess an income certificate as per government guidelines.
- OBC candidates should not fall under the creamy layer.
- The validity of certificates will be verified at the time of document verification.
