POWERGRID Recruitment 2025: Apply for 1543 Field Engineer & Field Supervisor Posts

POWERGRID, a Maharatna PSU and one of the world’s largest power transmission utilities, has announced an official notification for the engagement of experienced professionals on a fixed-term contract basis. Through the POWERGRID Common FTE Written Test-2025, applications are invited for 1543 vacancies of Field Engineers and Field Supervisors across various regions and projects in India.

About POWERGRID

POWERGRID operates over 1,80,849 circuit km of transmission lines and 286 substations (as of 31st July 2025), transmitting about 50% of India’s total generated power. It also manages a 1,00,000 km telecom network and provides consultancy services worldwide. In FY 2024-25, POWERGRID recorded a gross turnover of ₹47,459 crore with a profit after tax of ₹15,521 crore.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Field Engineer (Electrical) – Post ID 487

• Qualification: Full-time B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical/Power/EEE with 55% marks.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Design/Engineering/Construction/Testing & Commissioning in RE/DMS/ST/TL/Sub-Stations.

2. Field Engineer (Civil) – Post ID 488

• Qualification: Full-time B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg.) in Civil with 55% marks.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Construction/Testing & Commissioning of Civil works in RE/DMS/ST/TL/Sub-Stations.

3. Field Supervisor (Electrical) – Post ID 489

• Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Electrical with 55% marks.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Construction/Testing & Commissioning of Electrical works in RE/DMS/ST/TL/Sub-Stations.

• Note: Higher qualifications like B.E./B.Tech. not allowed.

4. Field Supervisor (Civil) – Post ID 490

• Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Civil Engineering with 55% marks.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Construction/Testing & Commissioning of Civil works.

• Note: Higher qualifications not allowed.

5. Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication) – Post ID 491

• Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Electronics/Telecom/IT with 55% marks.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Design/Engineering/Construction/Testing/Operation of Telecom systems.

• Note: Higher qualifications not allowed.

Upper Age Limit: 29 years as on 17.09.2025 (Relaxations as per Govt. rules).

Salary & Benefits

• Field Engineer: ₹30,000 – 1,20,000 + DA + HRA + perks (Approx. CTC ₹8.9 LPA).

• Field Supervisor: ₹23,000 – 1,05,000 + DA + HRA + perks (Approx. CTC ₹6.8 LPA).

• Other Benefits:

  • Annual increments @ 3%.

Selection Process

1. Written Test (All Posts):

   • Duration: 1 hour (MCQ, no negative marking).

   • Sections:

     • Technical Knowledge (50 Qs)

     • Aptitude (25 Qs: English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, GK & Current Affairs)

   • Qualifying Marks: 40% (UR/EWS), 30% (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD).

2. Interview (Field Engineers only):

   • Shortlisted candidates based on written test will be called.

   • Merit prepared from interview marks.

3. Final Selection:

   • Field Engineers – based on Interview.

   • Field Supervisors – based on Written Test only.

• Field Engineer: ₹400/-

• Field Supervisor: ₹300/-

• SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM: Exempted.
